What I'm Watching

Pin It Now!

Up tonight is...

Chloe on LifeTime. I watched this movie once when it first came out, but haven''t seen it since and can't wait to watch it. It stars Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, and my favorite doe-eyed girl Amanda Seyfried.

All remember about this movie is that is was scandalous. Amanda was a high class prostitute and was all kinds of crazy. So I can't wait to watch this movie again.

Then tomorrow I am watching...

An Officer and a Murder on Lifetime Movie Network  7:00PM. This is one of the many Inspired by a true story movies they have been showing lately and I really want to see it.

Then Sunday I am watching...

  • True Blood on HBO
  • Leverage on TNT (I <3 Aldris Hodge)

What are you watching this weekend?

Titanic in 3-D!

Pin It Now!

titanic 3d

I can’t wait until April 4th! Not only is it a day before my younger sister’s 21st birthday, but it’s also the day that the love story of all love stories hits the big screen once again. And you better believe the date is already circled in my calendar and that I am already purchasing my box of tissue.

I have literally seen this movie a hundred times, but never in theaters. So I am excited that it is being re-released. I am even excited about the movie being in 3-D and I usually hate the fact that they try to make every movie 3-D these days. But some are doubting that people will waste their money seeing a movie that has been out for years, but lots of people went to see Beauty and the Beast the second time around, so bring on Titanic.

Back in Love With Rob Pattinson!

Pin It Now!

robert pattinson water for elephantsLast December I wrote a post about how tired I was of Robert Pattinson and how my obsession with him was just an illusion. But over the weekend I rented “Water For Elephants” and fell back in love with him.

When I say I loved this movie, you better believe it. Not to mention my girl Reese Witherspoon was in it. The movie couldn’t have been any better. It had an awesome storyline, great cast, and loads of cute animals. I especially loved the elephant and it hurt me to see so many animals being abused. Which made me wonder if this still happens today in traveling circuses.

But on a lighter note, the movie was awesome and I am glad I finally saw it. And I highly recommend it!

What’s Your Number?

Pin It Now!

hkqslluz

I rented “What’s Your Number” today from Redbox and loved every minute of it. I love anything with Anna Faris and Chris Evans so I had to see this movie. And I am glad I did because it is so cute and funny.

The movie was about a girl who had slept with a load of guys and after reading a magazine article on the subject, decides that she cannot go over the number 20. So she sets out on a mission to go through all of her ex-lovers to make sure she stays at 19 and in the process finds love with Chris Evans. But who wouldn’t, he is hot!

I had a thought while watching. Is 10.5 men really the average number of men most women have slept with? That number seems a bit high, but this is a new day and time. And where does the 1/2 come from? Is that a little person or something? I really would like to know.

Movie Rating: 7/10

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Pin It Now!

5ekk1eqm

There have not been a lot of movies to recently come out that catch my attention like “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”. Everyone is talking about seeing “The Devil Inside”, but to me, if you have seen one possession movie you’ve seen them all. So I rather go with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

But before I see it, I want to read the books that the movie is based off. Most people rather see the movie over the book, but I prefer to read the book to get a better understanding before hand. Plus movies tend to leave out a big portion of the story.

Before 2 days ago, I had never heard of the books or movie, but while on YouTube, a trailer of this movie was shown, and it was so intriguing. So much so that I watched the whole trailer. I usually push - skip it - after the 5 required seconds, but not this time. I just can’t wait to see it. It seems mysterious and raw just like every movie should.

Tired of Robert Pattinson!

Pin It Now!

nrgzosz2

I have officially come to terms with the fact that I do not like Rob Pattinson. It was explained me by my annoyed family that I am actually in love with Edward from the Twilight books, not Rob. They came to this conclusion when I refused to see another movies that featured Rob. For instance, Remember Me and Water For Elephants did not interest me at all and still don’t.

So I guess they are right. It might sound so weird, but during reading the books I developed a tiny crush on a fictional character and I thought it was real. Lol! But it is alright now, I have snapped out of it. But now that my eyes have been opened I can see how this ridiculous R-Patz obsession has claimed many victims. Now to add to this, E! Online has named him Celeb of the Year. Gosh, there’s just no escaping him!

"The Pastor's Wife"

Pin It Now!

Did anyone catch the Lifetime movie "The Pastor's Wife" last night based on the Mary Winkler trial? It starred Rose McGowan as Mary Winkler. And if you don't remember Mary Winkler, she was a Selmer, TN woman who was on trial in 2006 for killing her husband who happened to be a pastor.

The movie took us through the events of the day of the murder, how she was caught, and her testimony on all of the abuse she suffered. Now I have no idea how close to the real thing this movie was, this movie made me feel for Mary. This lady went through so much. Her husband physically, mentally, verbally, and sexually abused her and she took it and stood beside him. And no one wanted to believe a pastor would be like that so they did not believe her side of the story. Not that I am saying it is right to kill anyone, but when you go through hell like she did, you start losing grip. So if you missed it Sunday go to mylifetime.com and look for upcoming airdates.

Who Saw "Paranormal Activity 3"?

Pin It Now!

From the audience reaction images it looks like it might be scary or the people in the pictures are totally lame. Just kidding. I am sure it is creepy just like the other two. But my question is: who went to see it? Was it spooky as everyone the commercials paint it to be?

I created a poll and put it in my sidebar below the search bar. Please leave your answer there letting me know whether I should stop my school work and waste my time and go see it. Or simply leave me a comment below. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Creepy Little Kids!

Pin It Now!
Have you seen the Paranormal Activity 3 trailer with the 2 little girls in the mirror saying "Bloody Mary"? Ughhh! I hate that commercial. I turn it down everytime I hear it. And it is weird because I LOVE horror movies, but it is something about urban legends like Bloody Mary and Candyman that get under my skin. Of course I am still going to see the movie just like I went to see the 2 other Paranormal Activity movies, but that part scares the crap out of me. If you haven't seen the creepy clip yet, click here to see it.

"Contagion" Review!

Pin It Now!
Today I went to see "Contagion" and I was slightly let down. From the trailers, I thought I was in for some really good action and a good story line, but that did not happen. Now I know everyone has different taste in movies, so this movie might be good for you, but in my opinion I would say skip it. And I am so sorry to say it. The movie seemed promising with a cast including Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Laurence Fishburne and plus it was an epidemic film, which usually goes over well. But the movie seemed to go on forever and nothing. It was so bad that my brother went to sleep! Seriously. And the movie went the "Scream" way and killed of some important actors early in the movie. So needless to say I was bummed when the credits started rolling and nothing spectacular had happened.

All-in-all I give this movie a 2 out of 5. The only good thing that came out of this movie was showing me I should wash my hands a little more. It really was a waste of time and was surely not good enough to knock "The Help" from the number 1 spot.

"The Help"!

Pin It Now!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been gone for awhile, but school has just started and I have been trying to get back in the groove of things. But anyway, I am back and I have to tell you guys to go see "The Help" if you have not already. I cannot put into words how great this movies was. What I can say is that I laughed, I cried, and even got a little angry, but I left the theater with a warm and fuzzy feeling that comes after viewing such a great movie.

Just in case you are wondering what this movie is about I can give you a quick explanation. First thing you need to know is that the movie stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, and Bryce Dallas Howard, just to name a few. Then, you need to know that it takes place in Jackson , MS during the Civil Rights era in the early 1960's. Now, I can tell you a little about the movie. Basically the story is about Skeeter (Emma Stone) who is a writer and how she is determined to write a book to tell the story of Black maids and their White employers, and all the racism that is going on during this time in America. And while doing this alot of wacky and alot of serious things happen. But I don't want to tell too much.

So not to spoil the movie for you, I will now shut up and show you the trailer for the movie. Please go see "The Help". You will not regret it!

Potty Mouths!

Pin It Now!
Yesterday I read an article on Yahoo about the rising trend of profanity in movies. And once I started reading the article, it quickly dawned on me that this fact is so true. Every movie I have recently watched has so many cuss words in it that I find myself cringing. But what is even more troubling about the article is that PG-13 movies are now allowed to use 1 non-sexual F-bomb (you know the word, so I don't have to spell it out) per script. That is crazy! The "F" word is a very big word in terms of profanity, so why would this be okay for 13 year olds to hear. I know that kids probably hear this word everyday, but come on, are there any movies left that we can watch without worrying when it's time to cover the kids ears or without making a mad dash to mute the T.V. Gosh!!!
