BzzReview: Yogurt Smoothie Bars!!!

Pin It Now!

My latest BzzCampaign features Kroger's Yogurt Smoothie Bars. BzzAgent sent my a BzzKit that included a free coupon for Kroger Yogurt Smoothie Bars as well as $1 off coupons on a variety of other guilt-free products. The kit could not have come at a better time with the Memphis heat kicking my butt. You can't beat free, especially free frozen treats in the summer.

I purchased the Strawberry Banana flavor smoothie bars with my free coupon and really liked it. I never knew that something low-fat could be so good! I used to shy away from these types of products fearing that they would have no flavor and a weird texture, but that is not so with these bars. These bars were so rich and creamy and had actual strawberries! I will most definitely purchasing these bars again.

Back in Love With Rob Pattinson!

Pin It Now!

robert pattinson water for elephantsLast December I wrote a post about how tired I was of Robert Pattinson and how my obsession with him was just an illusion. But over the weekend I rented “Water For Elephants” and fell back in love with him.

When I say I loved this movie, you better believe it. Not to mention my girl Reese Witherspoon was in it. The movie couldn’t have been any better. It had an awesome storyline, great cast, and loads of cute animals. I especially loved the elephant and it hurt me to see so many animals being abused. Which made me wonder if this still happens today in traveling circuses.

But on a lighter note, the movie was awesome and I am glad I finally saw it. And I highly recommend it!

What’s Your Number?

Pin It Now!

hkqslluz

I rented “What’s Your Number” today from Redbox and loved every minute of it. I love anything with Anna Faris and Chris Evans so I had to see this movie. And I am glad I did because it is so cute and funny.

The movie was about a girl who had slept with a load of guys and after reading a magazine article on the subject, decides that she cannot go over the number 20. So she sets out on a mission to go through all of her ex-lovers to make sure she stays at 19 and in the process finds love with Chris Evans. But who wouldn’t, he is hot!

I had a thought while watching. Is 10.5 men really the average number of men most women have slept with? That number seems a bit high, but this is a new day and time. And where does the 1/2 come from? Is that a little person or something? I really would like to know.

Movie Rating: 7/10

Whitney!

Pin It Now!

I am in very strong like with this show. I won't say love yet, but maybe someday soon. We keep dating and see where it goes. Lol. No, but for real, I was suppose to write this review 2 weeks back after the premiere, but hey stuff happens. So here it is now.

While I love Whitney Cummings and the show is funny, the show's joke timing is a little.. off. I really don't know how to explain it. It is just off. And the "audience" laughter is annoying, if there really is a real studio audience and not just a laugh track.

Don't get me wrong the show is quirky and cute at times, but then sometimes it gets a little too raunchy. Just as the other show Whitney writes for on CBS, "Two Broke Girls," the show can really "go there" at times. But all in all the show is good. I don't think it will be a "Friends', but it will do. So lets hope the show gets picked up for a second season, so Whitney doesn't have to go back to doing mostly Celebrity Roasts on Comedy Central. Mazel Tov!

Domino's Artisan Pizzas

Pin It Now!

All I can say is go try them! Now! My family tried 2 of these new pizzas from Domino's - the Spinach & Feta and the Tuscan Salami & Roasted Veggies, and both were great. But I preferred the Spinach & Feta a little more then the other. While they were good, they are still from Domino's so don't expect the pizza to taste like something from Italy or even New York. But for $7.99 it is worth a try. And I believe you will be surprised by the flavor. So hurry up and go try them while the price is still low.

New and Improved...?

Pin It Now!
So I watched the first episode of  the new season of "Two and a Half Men" sans Charlie Sheen, and I really liked it. I think Ashton Kutcher is a great addition to the show and really brings the laughs. He was awesome on another one my shows "That 70's Show, so I know he has the comedy chops.  Hopefully the show last awhile and doesn't have a steep drop in ratings. So many other shows have failed when a main character leaves, but I see this show going the distance. Fingers crossed!

If you missed the first episode of the season, make sure to catch the next episode on Monday @ 9/8 Central.

"Contagion" Review!

Pin It Now!
Today I went to see "Contagion" and I was slightly let down. From the trailers, I thought I was in for some really good action and a good story line, but that did not happen. Now I know everyone has different taste in movies, so this movie might be good for you, but in my opinion I would say skip it. And I am so sorry to say it. The movie seemed promising with a cast including Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Laurence Fishburne and plus it was an epidemic film, which usually goes over well. But the movie seemed to go on forever and nothing. It was so bad that my brother went to sleep! Seriously. And the movie went the "Scream" way and killed of some important actors early in the movie. So needless to say I was bummed when the credits started rolling and nothing spectacular had happened.

All-in-all I give this movie a 2 out of 5. The only good thing that came out of this movie was showing me I should wash my hands a little more. It really was a waste of time and was surely not good enough to knock "The Help" from the number 1 spot.

"The Help"!

Pin It Now!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been gone for awhile, but school has just started and I have been trying to get back in the groove of things. But anyway, I am back and I have to tell you guys to go see "The Help" if you have not already. I cannot put into words how great this movies was. What I can say is that I laughed, I cried, and even got a little angry, but I left the theater with a warm and fuzzy feeling that comes after viewing such a great movie.

Just in case you are wondering what this movie is about I can give you a quick explanation. First thing you need to know is that the movie stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, and Bryce Dallas Howard, just to name a few. Then, you need to know that it takes place in Jackson , MS during the Civil Rights era in the early 1960's. Now, I can tell you a little about the movie. Basically the story is about Skeeter (Emma Stone) who is a writer and how she is determined to write a book to tell the story of Black maids and their White employers, and all the racism that is going on during this time in America. And while doing this alot of wacky and alot of serious things happen. But I don't want to tell too much.

So not to spoil the movie for you, I will now shut up and show you the trailer for the movie. Please go see "The Help". You will not regret it!

Bookbyte.com Buyback Program!

Pin It Now!
Ok guys, I have found a new website that sells books and also buys them back and the name is Bookbyte.com. And I am totally in love with them. The process of selling my books to them was simple and the payment was quick.

To get the ball rolling all I had to do was enter my ISBN and the site offered me a estimated price. Now that is about the only tricky part about it. To make sure you get the full estimated price, your books must have all the extras that originally came with it like CDs and access codes. But that was not a problem for me. So after I was offered the quoted price and accepted it, and I then was given the shipping options of either USPS of FedEx Ground. After I chose, I was able to print my postage paid shipping label and I dropped it off the following day.  Easy enough! I was even given a tracking number to keep up with my package. And after 1 day of processing, I received my payment of $52.75 today. I chose to receive my payment via PayPal, but you could also receive payment by check, which would take a little longer.

So all in all, the buyback process was quick and easy and I can see myself using them again. And just in case you are still a little leery about this company and receiving payments, I have included captures from my Bookbyte account with prices and my PayPal account with my payment.

I hope this review was helpful to someone and gives another alternative to dealing with those books you will probably never use again.
